چکیده
BACKGROUND Cr(VI) in aqueous solution is a serious concern that can harm human health by accumulating the food chain. Meanwhile, most common form of waste (FW) disposal landfill takes up lot area and pollutes environment. As consequence, FW was employed as raw material production waste-derived biochar (FWB), which then modified to produce Ce/Fe3O4/FWB composite for high-efficiency removal RESULTS The structure, morphology, properties were thoroughly investigated, well its adsorption ability. exhibited highest 20.4 mg/g at pH 2. Furthermore, fitted pseudo-second-order kinetic model Langmuir model, with intra-particle diffusion acting rate-controlling step. thermodynamic investigation demonstrated Cr (VI) spontaneous endothermic process. With increasing concentrations Cl−, SO42− PO43−, weakened sequence PO43−. CONCLUSION Adsorbent preparation utilizing sustainable environmentally beneficial method reclaimation Cr(VI)-bearing wastewater treatment. © 2022 Society Chemical Industry (SCI).

Adsorption Properties of Nano-MnO₂-Biochar Composites for Copper in Aqueous Solution.
There is a continuing need to develop effective materials for the environmental remediation of copper-contaminated sites. Nano-MnO₂-biochar composites (NMBCs) were successfully synthesized through the reduction of potassium permanganate by ethanol in a biochar suspension. The physicochemical properties and morphology of NMBCs were examined, and the Cu(II) adsorption properties of this material ...
متن کاملAdsorption of Cr(VI) and Speciation of Cr(VI) and Cr(III) in Aqueous Solutions Using Chemically Modified Chitosan
A new type of grafting chitosan (CTS) was synthesized using 2-hydroxyethyl-trimethyl ammonium chloride (HGCTS). The adsorption of Cr(VI) on HGCTS was studied. The effect factors on adsorption and the adsorption mechanism were considered. The results indicated that the HGCTS could concentrate and separate Cr(VI) at pH 4.0; the adsorption equilibrium time was 80 min; the maximum adsorption capaci...
متن کاملAdsorption of Antibiotics on Graphene and Biochar in Aqueous Solutions Induced by π-π Interactions
The use of carbon based materials on the removal of antibiotics with high concentrations has been well studied, however the effect of this removal method is not clear on the actual concentration of environments, such as the hospital wastewater, sewage treatment plants and aquaculture wastewater. In this study, experimental studies on the adsorption of 7 antibiotics in environmental concentratio...
متن کاملContribution of Soluble Minerals in Biochar to Pb Adsorption in Aqueous Solutions
Biochar is widely used as an adsorbent to remove heavy metals from aqueous solutions. To investigate the contribution of soluble minerals (mainly anions) to Pb2+ removal in solution, wheat straw biochar was washed with deionized water to remove soluble minerals. Batch adsorption was conducted using washed biochar (WBC) and unwashed biochar (BC) to absorb Pb2+. After washing, the pH and ash cont...
